So I got the news today the One Percent Press will NOT be having a showcase at South By Southwest. For some reason I'm really soured by the whole experience. It was really frustrating because they contacted ME with the proposal, and then took all of my and the bands money ($35 a piece) and then dangled me on the line for MONTHS and then sent me a generic rejection letter.
The only silver lining is that Venice is Sinking called in a favor and has a show, but none of the other bands got in.
I keep feeling like I got all the bands hopes up for no reason. I have never been to South By Southwest so I have no idea if this was truly out of my grasp or not. Are these fests worth doing? Ugh. |

So this X-Mas I'm thinking about a new pair of shoes. I did a quick Google search and all I could find were New Balance that had a made in the US division. Does anybody know if there are any other shoe companies with such a division. My dream shoe would be a knockoff Chuck Taylor style shoe, but I'm not holding my breath.
I found this in an old(er) sketchbook. I hope my line quality has improved since then.
Possibly amusing to, at most, three people. |

So I'm in Marietta till Oct. 2nd.
I'm staying with my partner Laura, whom I will be living with as soon as November. Marietta is a weird place. Home of Top Shelf (sort of) and Dr. No's, but little else.
It's weird to think that I moved here in 1996 with my parents, moved to Atlanta in 2004, moved back to Marietta in 2005, to Buffalo in 2006, and back to Marietta in 2007.
I drew this in Charlotte, while experiencing a layover on my trip down here.
They have a very nice airport. |

2. Call the Georgia Title Registration Office. Because you still haven't done that yet. It is August. 2007. You moved here in July. 2006.
3. Update your Vox more often. You like it. Because you are dork.
4. Draw for more than 5 Hours. You are on Alec Longstreth's 8 hour schedule. You can't skip out on the second half.
5. Check Livejournal MORE frequently, so you don't spend hours checking all the cool stuff you missed. Like you just did. Hours. Plural.
6. Stay away from Bugles. Sharpie doesn't come off. Idiot. |
